Be Safe Around Fireworks
A lot of people seem to think that fireworks are really only around towards the end of the year but I would really disagree with this because people have them all over the year all of the time for many occasions, the main thing to remember is safety and it is highly important that you are safe when using or being near the fireworks.
The main thing to remember is that illegal fireworks are called illegal for a reason which means you shouldn’t have them, they are highly dangerous. If you are really unsure then make sure you look out for the BS 7114 as this is the British firework number. Read the instructions of all of the fireworks you have, each one is different. The worst thing you can do is actually read the firework under a naked flame as it will cause it to explode.
The best thing to have is a bucket of earth to put the rockets in as this is a safe way to let them off. The person lighting the fireworks should always be wearing eye protection and gloves.
It is actually illegal to set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am unless there are special celebrations going on and you are now allowed to set off fireworks in a public area. If you break this rule then you can actually face a prison sentence. Bonfire night is one of those exceptions with midnight and New Year is 1am.
You are also not allowed to keep fireworks on you in your pocket or throw them. Another important piece of advice is that you shouldn’t throw used ones onto a bonfire.
Make sure that you know the rules, regulations and safety advice before you go out and buy firework wheels and of course firework selection boxes and fireworks
