Grow Your Fresh Herbs In Pots

Given the right conditions in your home fresh herbs are easy to grow in containers. There are, of course, some of these in particular that do not fare too well in a pots since some need a lot of space to grow and develop ie. Sesame. Some of you will want to grow your fresh herbs for medicinal purposes as well as culinary or visual reasons. Many herbs have healing properties which make them useful while with others can easily be harvested directly into the cooking pot.

It is best to use potting mix for your potted herb garden to enjoy the maximum advantages of the herbs. Ordinary soil may not be able to supply the necessary nutrients for optimum growth. A good potting soil however, will have the right mixture for your herbs’ development. If possible use an organic soil too. Do not use chemical pesticides and herbicides for your potted herb garden. Plots In The Garden

A great way to grow your herbs is in the garden on their own plot of whatever size. These plots will often have more soil, light and water if it rains. Growing fresh herbs this ‘natural’ way means they cannot be easily moved without replanting. You also have the option of planting several of these beneficial plants together in a plant box, especially those with remarkable flowers and foliage.
