Keeping it Natural with Organic Rose Gardening

Instead of envying your neighbor’s rose garden, you too can grow healthy plants with magnificent blooms, rich in color and sweet fragrance.  Most people think that organic rose gardening takes too much time and effort but in truth, you can have a gorgeous garden with little help simply by knowing how.  Roses have been the number one flower throughout the world’s existence, grown naturally without modern day chemicals.  If you love roses and want to do what you can to promote a healthy environment, you can simply by getting involved with rose planting naturally.

Nature has created incredible flowers and trees with nutrients being provided by soil, water, and sun.  One of the most important aspects of rose planting is by making sure you use rich soil and when watering, you want to make sure you deep water so roots low in the ground are being provided with moisture.  With this, your rose garden would be stunning and healthy.

Roses are unique in that many phases of growing happen naturally.  For instance, photosynthesis is a process in which leaves change because of the sun’s energy and water.  Then, the soil is loaded with bacteria, fungus, nematodes, and other microorganisms that help to break down dead leaves, stems, and blooms.  All of this works to create rich soil, which in turn, promotes beautiful rose bushes.  With organic rose growing, you want to avoid chemicals, which kill the microorganisms that your garden needs.

Chemicals are not just dangerous but they are also addictive to roses.  This means when transplanting roses or starting a new garden, you want to avoid chemicals at all costs.  Instead, you would use only homemade organic products or you could purchase a variety of commercial products now being offered on the market.  Best of all, the cost associated with organic rose gardening is far less than you would imagine.  Comparing cost of using chemicals versus of growing plants without chemicals is quite interesting.

Remember, that rose bush care will require will require rich soil.  Rather than spend a ton of money to prepare the soil, you might consider creating your own compost pile.  Find a spot out in the yard and then begin to pile on scraps such as food, old newspapers, grass clippings, dog waste, and anything that you would normally toss out that can decay.  Over time, the compost pile would be turned to help with the decay process.  When ready, compost would be added to the garden, which improves the soil’s quality.

Another aspect of organic rose gardening has to do with pests, which love roses.  However, in keeping with organic growing, you need to rid the plants of pests using only natural products, no harsh chemicals.  You see, many insects such as wasps and ladybugs are actually beneficial to the garden so if chemicals are used, then good insects are killed along with bad insets.  You also need certain creatures in the rose garden to include snakes, lizards, frogs, and birds, which help by keeping the invasion of grubs and worms at bay.  Roses are prone to some bad insects so if you find you have a problem, simply use homemade remedies or you could purchase organic products at your local gardening center or nursery.

Organic rose gardening is not complicated or expensive, as you might imagine.  Just remember that whenever your are planting your roses to use rich soil, water the roses deep, give the roses bushes plenty of sunshine, and use only natural products or remedies.  As the rose bushes grow, you will see large, colorful blooms that would make you the talk of the town.  In fact, growing roses organically will provide you with plants that live longer than roses treated with chemicals.
