Like most trees, palm trees basically survive better in certain kinds of weather.Since palm trees are originally from tropical types of climates, they usually thrive in those climates as well.But a palm tree can survive if you acclimate it to a milder weather. We are going to look at a couple of palm trees that can be acclimated to a milder temperature.
The first type of palm tree we are going to look at are the foxtail palm tree. These palm trees generally were thought to not be able to survive in milder weather.They were actually believed that they could only survive in a humid weather.But some growers who got them acclimated to milder temperatures were actually able to get them to survive.Many people are getting introduced to this kind of palm tree because of that. They are a rare palm that has been gaining popularity.
Another type of palm that was thought not to be able to survive in milder temperatures are the coconut palm. But just like the foxtail palms some growers were able to successfully grow them.Because the more well known coconut palms that do produce coconut were generally only able to live in the tropics. But they have been thriving once they were able to get them acclimated. So you are starting to see many homes and gardens having these palm trees in their yard.
Of course with any palm trees for sale the key is making sure the palm tree can survive. How you do that is to make sure they were acclimated to your weather climate.But generally if you just bought it locally then it will be used definitely to your type of weather. If this is the case you will get to experience many rare palms not seen before.
So there you have the main reason that palm trees don’t survive sometimes. The key is basically making sure that they are acclimated to your weather and they will surely do great.
