There are some fantastic hiking trails in Southern Utah. The great Utah National Parks can be an unbelievable experience and can put you in front of some of the most spectacular landmarks in the world. Whenever you go hiking you’ll want to make the most of it. Below are a few tips for hiking safely.

1. Start Early

The earlier you head out the more things you will be able to get to and the more trails you’ll be able to take. There are only so many hours of the day and if you get to the park at 1pm or so half of those hours are already gone. The earlier you start the more you will be able to do and see, it is as simple as that.

2. Go With a Buddy

The buddy system works because it helps everyone stay safe. There have been far too many horror stories about hikers who went hiking alone and got trapped only to disappear into the wilderness. On the other hand if they had buddies with them they could have kept an eye on one another and make sure that they both got back safely.

There is also the fact that hiking with a buddy is always much funner. It may be peaceful to hike by yourself, however hiking with other people will make the trip that much more enjoyable and entertaining.

3. Don’t Disturb The Wilderness

Another thing to remember is to not disturb the wilderness. Ideally you want to leave the wilderness exactly as it was when you first arrived there. One way to do this is to stay on the trail and try not to harm any of the wildlife or plants.

It may not seem like one person will cause a whole lot of damage, but if everyone who goes down that trail believes this then the wilderness will not last forever. We all need to do our part in making sure that this beautiful world we live in remains beautiful for future generations.

We all know about the buddy system and how it is used to keep people safe. There have been far too many horror stories about hikers who went hiking alone and got trapped only to disappear into the wilderness. Instead going with a buddy can help you to be sure that you will both get back safety. It is just safer to go in groups.

It may not seem like one person will cause a whole lot of damage, but if everyone who goes down that trail believes this then the wilderness will not last forever. We all need to do our part in making sure that this beautiful world we live in remains beautiful for future generations.

Utah is filled with some of the most amazing land on the planet.

Capitol Reef is basically a large park and campground which host the following attractions.

1. Great Waterpocket Fold

The Waterpocket fold is an enormous canyon that reaches from Northern Arizona to Middle Utah. This large structure is one of the main attractions of the park and is a perfect place to study geology at.

This large land mark was created over 65 million years ago by a large event called the Laramide Orogeny, which created mountains and pushed large rocks aside.

2. Cave Painting

The Fremont Indians called the park home before it was even a park, and before the white people came. Because of that there are still a lot of interesting cave paintings and carvings that are present throughout much of the park.

These indians told stories when they drew their pictures, so they are filled with ancient mythologies. If you love to see things created from the Native Americans there are some parts of this park that you will find really interesting.

3. Old Houses

A small colony of setters made this their home in the 1800s. Until the early 1900s the civilization remained cut off from the rest of the world. Today there are still ruins from the old village that once stood here.

4. Deer

If there is one thing this park has plenty of it is deer. Visiting the park you wonder if 90% of Utah’s deer population lives in this one park. The deer here are so friendly as well. I have several close up videos and pictures I got at the park.

There is plenty to see at the park. This is one of those parks that you simply have to take some time to see if you live in Southern Utah or even Northern Arizona.

Visiting these amazing parks can be the start of an incredible day. These reasons include.

1. Beauty

The state parks in Utah have some beautiful Scenery in Utah. The best part about visiting these parks is that they contain some unbelievable natural rock structures. The Arches National Park is a perfect example of this.

With the gigantic Sandstone Arches that are scattered throughout the Arches National Park and the Canyonland National Park you had better bring your camera so that you can get some photos of the great land.

2. Exercise

Exercising is one of the best ways to become healthier and to extend your life. Well the National Parks in Utah all contain a number of great hiking trails. You can see nature and improve your health all at the same time. The added exercise you get not to mention the fresh air that surrounds the parks helps you to keep healthy.

3. Wildlife

Utah is filled with wildlife. Spending some time at parks like Zion National Park or Capitol Reef is a great way to go looking for wild animals. Capitol Reef actually has a huge deer population, so if you go camping over there you can pretty much assume you will run into a lot of deer.

4. Get Away From It All

Life can definately be pretty stressful. It is hard to work day in and day out without much change, and then there are all the everyday problems that happen. Sometimes you just want to take some time off and get a breath of fresh air, going to the middle of nature is aperfect way to do that.

Not only do these parks allow you to see the wildlife, but they also help you to calm down and get back to your roots. Visiting the wilderness is just nice to do and can be a very relaxing way to spend the day.

4.Golfing

There are a lot of things to do in Utah. This great outdoor state has something for everyone to do in it. Below is a list of 5 great things you can do while traveling around the state.

1. National Parks

Utah has 5 large Utah National Parks, each shows off the beautiful Utah scenery. From the Arches National Park which contains some amazing rock formations to Zion National Park which shows off Utah’s forests, the state has a wide variety of different landscapes.

2. State Parks

There are also a lot of smaller state parks which are all very fun to stay at. One state park, Sand Hollow can be a great place to take the family for the day, because there are a number of small rocks in the middle of the reservoir that you acn easily swim to.

3. Fishing

Utah has some nice fishing holes to go to. Visiting the state’s fishing lakes can lead to an exciting time and a great experience. And with the large number of great lakes throughout the state you have a lot of places to choose from.

4. Dinosaur Bones

Utah also has a lot of interesting dinosaur bones. There are many different places out here which offer some amazing finds, for instance Johnsons Farm in Utah holds the worlds largest single Dinosaur track block.

5. Best Friends

I’m sure some of you have heard of the Best Friends animal sanctuary. The find pets who have been abandoned or abused and adopt them until they can find other homes for the animals. They were among the first to help out during Hurricane Katrina and they rehabilitated many of Michel Vicks dogs after they were taken away from him. It is a great place to go if you love animals or want to adopt a pet yourself.

Visiting the sanctuary will help to support the park as it relies on donations to stay up and running.

Southern Utah has a few amazing camping areas. If you are ever planning a Utah vacation one thing you might want to consider is staying at one of these great camping grounds so you can see more of the Utah scenery and it is also many times cheaper to camp then to stay at a hotel.

1. Fish Lake

Fish Lake is a wonderful spot to take a fishing and camping trip at. This Utah Lake is known for producing great fishing stories. It is also surrounded by the Fish Lake National Forests that has many great hiking trails and includes the world’s largest living organism, which is basically a group of tress that are all fused together.

There is just one word of warning I should give you this lake is a perfect R.V. camping area. If you bring a tent you had better come during the summer or you are going to freeze.

2. Any National Park

All of the Utah National Parks are well worth the visit and by camping out at them you can see all there is to see. Every one of these parks contains a camping section and they are all a pretty inexpensive way to go.

3. Green River

The Green River State Park is a fantastic place to camp out because they have some nice fishing and it also contains a golf course so there is a lot to do just on the camp ground. It is also very close to 3 major national parks, Arches, Capitol Reef, and Canyonlands.

The wide selection of things to do definitely makes this a great spot to plan a vacation at.

4. Snow Canyon

Snow canyon is also a nice place to stay; this park is normally not very crowded and contains some amazing lava flow rock formations. It is also next to the other two National Parks, Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon.

There are hundreds of spots to camp around the state. These are just a few nice camping areas which you might want to check out.

Utah is a fantastic state which offers some amazing outdoor activities for all nature enthusiasts. There is something for everyone to do in southern Utah. In fact here is a short list of 4 different activities that can be very fun to do in Utah.

Hike The National Parks

There are some amazing parks in Utah which really show off it’s beautiful land. Parks such as The Arches, Zions, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef all allow you to enjoy a different aspect of Utah’s natural beauty.

Coming to these 5 great Utah National Parks will not only give you a lot of great photo opportunities, but they will also teach you a little something about how mother nature works and how the amazing rock structures in Utah where formed.

2. Hike The State Parks

In addition to the massive National Parks which are spread out through the Southern and Centeral areas of Utah there are also many of smaller but just as beautiful state parks. There are many great places in these parks to take some great pictures of Utah.

3. Fishing and Hunting

Utah has some amazing fishing lakes, one of which is even named one of the top fishing lakes in North America. Utah is a fishermen’s dream with places such as Fish Lake, Lake Powell, and Panguitch Lake.

There is also a lot of action when it comes to hunting Utah because the state has a high population of deer and offers hunting for many different species of animals. You will almost certainly come back with a few great hunting stories.

4.Golfing

Utah has some extrmely beautiful golf courses because they are surrounded by unbelievable sandstone formations and great views. While of course we all want to focus on our game, it is always nicer to have some beautiful views while you are playing.

These are just a few of the many great outdoor attractions Utah has to offer. If you are planning a trip to thisstate you are definitely going to want to bring a camera and get ready for some outdoor fun.
