Top Five Tips For Buying A Garden Lawnmower

Cutting the grass in your garden is essential if you want to keep your garden healthy and looking good.  Buying a decent garden lawnmower will help make your life a lot easier and will make your garden look great.  There are a lot of fantastic garden lawnmowers out there but choosing one that is suitable can be difficult.  There are a number of factors you need to consider including the size of your garden and budget.

Type Of Lawnmower Blade

Rotary Mowers – The most common types of garden lawnmowers all use rotary blades to cut lawns.  You can tell they are rotary as they have blades that rotate.  Rotary blades can only be a problem if you want to achieve a striped look to your lawn as they leave cut grass torn.  If you get one with a good, heavy roller on the back it will help to give your lawn a striped look.

Cylinder Mowers – Cylindermowers come complete with circular blades similar to traditional manual mowers that are pushed around the lawn.  Manual cylinders are a lot of effort to use but you can get ones that are petrol powered the only problem is they tend to be expensive.  Cylinder garden lawnmowers will leave your lawn in almost an immaculate condition.

Lawnmowers

Electric – If you have a small garden then an electric mower is going to be the best choice for you.  When it comes to electric garden lawnmowers they are the most affordable on the market.  They are typically much cheaper than any other type of mower and are easy to maintain.  One of the only drawbacks with the electric mower is that you have to have a power source that is nearby and they are not as powerful.

Petrol Lawnmowers – The main advantage of a petrol lawnmower is that it has no electric cable so can easily cope with large gardens.  Another benefit is the power they have, which means they can take on even the toughest areas of overgrown lawn.  The main problem with petrol mowers is they can require regular maintenance and can be rather noisy.

Ride On Mowers And Mini Tractors – If you are fortunate enough to own a mansion then ride on garden lawnmowers are perfect for cutting your grass.  Large areas of lawn that have different shapes in them can be easily tackled with a ride on lawnmower.  The main problem with this sort of mower is that they are the most expensive you will find although sitting down whilst cutting the lawn is a great idea.
