Why is everyone looking forward to the 2010 summer
It has been said that this summer is going to be a great one for all Europe. At least for the northern countries, that means less rain and warmer than usually weather while that may not be so god news for the Mediterranean ones where higher temperatures won’t be that pleasant. What is not very known is that during summers where there is a world cup, people travel less and they are quite happy to stay at home with their friends and family. Without any doubt that is not only a major sports event but also a social one, as it has a tremendous impact to so many people around the globe.
This is another reason that raises even higher the expectations of the forthcoming summer. All football fans are definitely excited about that, which is going to be the first world cup ever to be hosted on African soil. I don’t think many people would be indifferent to a pretty warm summer, where there will be many social gatherings because of the World Cup. After such a hard and intense winter all Europeans deserve a great summer, especially as recession doesn’t seem to get out of the way yet.
The most common picture from the summer includes a lot of friends taking their places around the Telly in the balcony, trying to listen to the commentator’s voice coming out of those portable speakers. Kids will be running around playing with their summer toys, say a radio controlled helicopter,while at the same time their parents will be enjoying a cold glass of beer straight out of the beer dispenser. And if there are some people around that do not enjoy watching football that much, you should expect some great barbecue too.
Therefore we just need to wait until we find out whether the scientists are right in their forecasts or not. Fingers crosses, the summer 2010 will be one to remember!
